Marie Caspard is a GIS enthusiast based in Portland, Maine. In 2016, Marie discovered GIS as part of her coursework as an Environmental Studies major at Bowdoin College. In 2024, she completed a Graduate Certificate in Geospatial Programming and Web Development at Penn State. Marie has sharpened her GIS skills with spatial analysis/planning work at a renewable energy developer and community development non-profit (Ocean Renewable Power Company, Island Institute) and with cartography work during internships at natural resource conservation organizations (National Parks Service, Friends of Katahdin Woods & Waters). When she’s not making maps, Marie enjoys playing the piano, listening to live music, skiing, fishing, running and generally being outdoors.
